The goal of the High School/Jr High program is to introduce the sport of triathlon in a way that encourages lifetime participation and health with an opportunity to pursue a high performance racing if the athlete desires.

High School/Jr High practices are built around the school year and other school related teams athletes may participate in. For example, in the fall practices are modified for those athletes participating in High School cross country.  The practices are ideal for the cross training that high school athletes need.

All practices are aligned to individual skills of the group, emphasis is on safety and encouraging athletes to reach their goals whether that is cross training or competing at the National Championships. Practices are usually held Kailua District Park and/or Kualaka’i.

High School/Jr High triathlons range in length from super sprint (375 meter swim, 10 kilometer bike, 2.5 kilometer run) to sprint distance (750 m swim, 20k bike, 5k run).  Elite draft legal and national championship races are super sprint distances.

High School/Jr High Beginner Training

This registration is for first time athletes only and Sunday practices only.  It is designed to teach the basics of triathlon to first time participants.  

High School/Junior High Returning Training (Once a month Group rides) 

This registration is for High School and Junior High athletes that have completed beginner training and are only available for once a month training sessions.  Sessions will include skills work and bike rides primarily.

High School/Junior High Returning Training (Once a week Group Training) 

This registration is for High School and Junior High athletes that have completed beginner training and are looking for once a week training sessions to improve their performance.  

High School/Junior High Returning Training (Multiple Days/Training Peaks)

This registration is for the more experienced athlete looking to move to the next level of triathlon.  It includes practices on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday as well as training peaks workouts for each week.
