The goal of the High School program is to introduce the sport of triathlon in a way that encourages lifetime participation and health with an opportunity to pursue a high performance racing if the athlete desires.

High School practices are built around the school year and other school related teams athletes may participate in. For example, in the fall practices are modified for those athletes participating in High School cross country.  The practices are ideal for the cross training that high school athletes need.

All practices are aligned to individual skills of the group, emphasis is on safety and encouraging athletes to reach their goals whether that is cross training or competing at the National Championships. Practices are usually held Kailua District Park and/or Kualaka’i.

High School triathlons range in length from super sprint (375 meter swim, 10 kilometer bike, 2.5 kilometer run) to sprint distance (750 m swim, 20k bike, 5k run).  Elite draft legal and national championship races are super sprint distances.
